Soul’s Wage
By Dienna Catuna
choose
life or death
Haste, eternity knocks eagerly
sin’s wages or Love’s way?
Wars wage within- wrestles in the soul
death
lukewarm jail.
Bleak, bitter, cocooned. But comfortable-
why escape? sin thrives here
no need to change, my prison haven
life
grace upon grace.
Open escape, He freely broke chains
for you- but will you break?
Life abundant awaits the other side
free
but enslaved.
Sin’s nook- compromised in its terrain.
Broken, dead promises
of pleasure. Another lifeless cell.
run
gates open.
Crimson made a way- the veil was torn
a risk, with freedoms gain
slaves turned to sons, just a step away
decide
time runs out.
Both beckon- prison populates quick
the dead thrive in vile comfort,
but Love cries out, freedom’s found in me.
